Check Your Data

2013 Newsletter 01 – 01

Check your data
Before you do anything in LibCode it is VITAL that you check your data, to confirm that nothing has changed since you used it before the holidays.
Two things you should do to check this:

  1. Circulation – Check LOAN data is ok…
    1. Open Circulation module > Reports > Current Loans Report
    2. When the report appears, scroll across to the right, click and hold down the left hand mouse button on the column heading ‘Loan Date’, you will see a black line appear
    3. Holding down the mouse button, drag the line across all the way to the left and let it go, this should move the ‘Loan Date’ column to the front of the table
    4. Click once on the column heading to sort the data ‘Loan Date’
    5. Now, scroll all the way down to bottom and check to see if you recognise the last few loans put through, the borrowers in classes/levels from the previous year, etc
  2. Data Entry – Check the Catalogue data is ok…
    1. Open Data Entry module
    2. Scroll all the way across to the right, click and hold down the left hand mouse button on the column heading ‘Entry Date’, you will see a black line appear
    3. Holding down the mouse button, drag the line across all the way to the left and let it go, this should move the ‘Entry Date’ column to the front of the table
    4. Click once on the column heading to sort the data by ‘Entry Date’ Now, scroll all the way down to the bottom and check to see if you recognise the last few resources entered
